  This page illustrates from an aerial perspective some environmental issues currently being experienced, having both positive and negative impacts on the country.
The one I would most strongly take issue with at the moment is the proposal by Eirgrid to build thousands of 400k electric pylons that would cut across some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country.
Scenic aerial photography will become a thing of the past when the country is littered with wind turbines, pylons, electric cables and masts of various types. The electricity pylon issue I would contend is a regressive and not a progressive step as certain PR firms would have us believe.
