Aerial photograph of Castletown House. Building work began in 1722, commissioned by
William Conolly, it was designed by the Italian architect Alessandro Galilei and Edward
Lovett Pearce. Desmond Guinness bought the house in 1967 when it became
headquarters to the Irish Georgian Society. The house is open to the public where
visitors can see original furniture and paintings.
