  Mallow Co Cork
Mallow is situated on the banks of the Blackwater river in the north of the county and is the location of Cork Racecourse.
The rececourse is prone to regular flooding as it's located on a floodplain just west of the town. Mallow was a centre for sugar beet production until its closure in 2006 resulting from an EU directive.
